Hey everybody, it's me, lynette and I'm, and we are Blending with the Frenches.
Irin:How you doing, sweetheart.
Lanette:I'm uh, I'm uh kinda tired.
Irin:Kinda tired.
Lanette:Yeah, if I'm being completely honest, it's been a long day, uh, with work.
Lanette:Yeah, well, let's back it up, let's back it up, let's back it over up now, that's why, I'm tired, but at 5 o'clock 5.30, your alarm goes off and I nudge you to turn it off, which then means I'm awake. Yeah, to turn it off, which then means I'm awake. Then you get up to go into the other room, turn the light on, do your daily routine, and I'm still up. Then you leave out the room to go work out, and I'm still up. I try hard to lay in there and go back to sleep because I did not want to get up to go work out.
Irin:Why not?
Lanette:Well, because, like it's painful, but there's growth in it. There is growth in it. There is growth in it, but at the same time I don't like the pain that I feel while we are going through it. But after I've sweated and looked at you all crazy, it feels good.
Irin:Yeah, it's that body-mind mastery.
Lanette:You kept telling me that today, when I was doing what's it called Romanian deadlifts. I don't know why I want to say something completely different, but Romanian deadlifts yes.
Irin:Romanian deadlifts. So it's the same principles of a regular deadlift, but you don't go all the way down, which is good for your lower back, your legs and your core, excuse me. And you start off with you started at 45 last week, did 45. This week you went up to 115 pounds.
Lanette:Well, I think you need to kind of like graduate me gradually, put me up there. The thing is, though, think you need to kind of like graduate me gradually, put me up there.
Irin:The thing is though, you wouldn't have done it if you just would have stuck with what you thought you could do.
Lanette:You can do it, it's all in your mind it was Like no, it's in my legs, they're not moving this bar.
Irin:That's the thing is. If you push the ground down, hold them, use your hands as hooks, push the ground down. It has no other choice but to go up. And what's crazy is that you? Have amazing strength in your legs Most women do and the thing is, if you learn how to use it the correct way, your body will be in immaculate shape.
Lanette:Well, I'm hoping and praying that all of this waking up early and can't eat what I want to eat- All this discipline.
Lanette:Well, when you say it like that, all this focus, yeah, yeah, I love it, but I don't like that. Oh, just focus, yeah, I love it, but I don't like it Sometimes. I like it sometimes because it's like, oh girl, you got that. You really just lifted all that stuff, even though the first time I went to move that part it was like, okay, you can do it, and it didn't go anywhere. But when you start telling me what I can do and it's all in my mind, you got it. Um, tell me to push through the floor, I'm thinking what the heck is he talking about?
Irin:push the heels to the ground. I promise you it's gonna move yeah, and uh, you know, when we first started it wasn't moving it wasn't moving, it wasn't moving. It wasn't going anywhere.
Lanette:However, I started getting mad.
Irin:Yeah, but that's a good thing.
Lanette:Yeah.
Irin:Sometimes you got to use that anger and frustration to something positive, and you can do better, absolutely.
Lanette:And then I started lifting it and getting it done, and then you kept playing me. I would keep playing you Because you was like you got five sets of five. So I'm like, okay, cool sitting there lifting lifting. I had lifted two, then you were like you got three more, give me four more.
Irin:Nah, then, you said you did five of five well, you added some extra ones in there, because you said you didn't do it right if the form was not right.
Lanette:Yeah, but the feeling still felt the same, mm-mm.
Irin:See, the thing is, it's about longevity. It's not about this lifting, it's about the longevity. If you do not practice correct form, you get injured.
Lanette:Yes.
Lanette:So I'm just going to make sure your foundation's straight. I appreciate it, and it wasn't until your words of encouragement really started clicking in with me, because I felt like, not only can I not let myself down, but I can't let you down If he believes that I can lift this bar. And you told me, like I don't think you're giving it 100%, you're not giving it the best that you can. So then it's like, oh okay, well, I have to show you that I can give it. So I had to put my frustrations into my legs.
Irin:But see, the thing is, I do want you to know that when I say those things, it's not to make you feel some type of way.
Irin:But, it is to show you that I do believe in you. I do want to give you the proper support and if I can encourage you to do the things the right way, even though you might not like it, I got you Absolutely. Allow me to lead you in all ways. I'm following God and I realize that the foundation is strong. So, if I know, hey, tighten up that core, squeeze that butt when you sit up, push that pelvic floor down, tilt that, squeeze your belly button. Try to put your belly button to the sky. Those things make a huge difference kind of like our children.
Lanette:Yeah, they don't like what we tell them. Sometimes they don't like the discipline of it, they don't understand the why we have one. That's like why you tell them something, why? And he smiles about it now. But they really do want to know why, and I think we did it at are aged as well. But when they know, uh, they have to listen and be disciplined. And then later they see like, okay, that's why I see the growth. Or I see what our parents were saying. This is why we couldn't do this or this is why we were supposed to do this. I know I'm going to be saying thank you in the long run At 5.30, though I look at you differently.
Irin:This is when you start at 5.30. You better be at 4.45 in a little bit.
Lanette:For sure, for sure. Well, I don't understand why you're saying that, but I need my rest, I need my body to recover.
Irin:Yeah, but I mean that's the whole thing is, if we get in bed at a proper time, get your massage, get into your Get my massage. Yeah.
Lanette:What kind of massage?
Irin:What you get for Christmas.
Lanette:Christmas's not here yet.
Irin:Oh, okay, that's how we look at it.
Lanette:Yeah, so I was just blessed y'all. What day was it? Friday, I was somewhere. I don't even know where I was at.
Irin:Yeah you were down there. No, you was. Where were you?
Lanette:I don't even know where I was at. Yeah, you were down there. Where were you? I don't know, I don't get out often you was doing some.
Irin:No, you was out to eat.
Lanette:Oh, that's right. I went out to eat with a young lady from my church who I look at as my little sister. It's always good to have those relationships where you are helping to mentor someone or helping to be a listening ear or just a good support, good friend to someone. So if you have not found that one person, that 10 people, find some people that you can mentor or be friends with and just check one to make sure they're okay. But I came back home and they was like yeah, ma'am, some packages here and he's been ordering our daughter all types of stuff for Christmas. Every other day, if not every day, packages from Amazon have been coming for her.
Irin:Well, I mean, you know, yeah, merry Christmas.
Lanette:So here I am. I saw that the doorbell had rang. I'm thinking, okay, Merry Christmas. So here I am, I saw that the doorbell had rang. I'm thinking, okay, it's another package for her, Come home. And I come in the room. The lights are off. I happened to look in a specific corner and I saw something that looked a little different. So, of course, I clicked the lights on and, to my surprise, my wonderful massage chair that I've been wanting was sitting in the room looking at me, and it has been making me feel so good, especially since my husband's been having me do all these workouts. So shout out to you babe, Thanks.
Irin:No problem. No problem, sweet babe. I can't have you, you know, lift that string of these things and doing things that make you a little tight without being able to loosen it up a little bit.
Lanette:Been loosening me up. Yes, and I appreciate the fact. Oh, so is that for you or is it for me? It's for the both of us, for the both. Okay, I see where this is going, but no, I appreciate the thoughtfulness, and the fact that you listen to me Is what I love.
Irin:Amen, I'm just here to make sure you're happy.
Lanette:Oh, thank you. Make sure you get what you want. Well, on that note, I'll be like one of our other children who has created a list of all the things A whole thing.
Irin:The number one thing on that list is a debit card.
Lanette:You need a job, son.
Irin:He's eight. He needs eight A debit card. Like what boy?
Lanette:We're going to get some cardboard Right, A debit card, Like what boy? We're going to get some cardboard Right. Put your name on there and put some numbers.
Irin:You better get a marker.
Lanette:Got to love our children? Definitely Got to love them. So how was your day?
Irin:It was good, brought to a couple hiccups as far as trying to do some things on the computer.
Lanette:Technology Technology.
Irin:Technology. Other than that, it was good. What did I do? I took my grandparents to a couple places or to a place to pick up an item for them. Which you know what? Pick up a lawnmower. It is December, Pawpaw. Why you need a lawnmower in December, you know.
Irin:It must have been on sale or something it must have been on sale because I mean, there's no other reason for you not, you know, for you to get it. But he got an electric lawnmower. And then what else did we do today? What else did I do? So, we grabbed something to eat.
Lanette:Yes, and then we went to our nephew's basketball game. So we have been very busy. We've been productive, definitely, and I'm glad that you were my partner during the day, even though I had meetings and I was working and all that good stuff, but anything I needed, I asked you for Right and I got it, that's what needed. I asked you for Right and I got it. That's what happens. I appreciate it, no problem. So we know that Christmas is on its way and, oh, we did some Christmas shopping too.
Irin:Yeah, we did.
Lanette:Now that we didn't have the kids, that was a good time for us to go and grab a few items and still have a few more to get. But thank God we're not waiting like I normally do I mean?
Irin:technically, we're about two Baby you don't understand.
Lanette:Normally, December 24th, I am going to get the gifts.
Irin:I'm wrapping the gifts. Be careful what we say, because you know they be. Hey, google.
Lanette:Oh yeah, like blend it with the French's podcast. Those are the keys. But we know that during this time, a lot of people are spending, money Spending, and we're spending. We are spending we are spending, but we are watching what we're spending. How do you think your spending habit is Um?
Irin:I'm pretty good for the most part, mm-hmm Until I'm not.
Lanette:Ah, so do tell.
Irin:Well, I mean, okay, technically I am doing pretty good. The only thing I've purchased recently was a wallet. It's only because I needed it, even though I took it back.
Lanette:But you're going to get another one. I'm going to get another one.
Irin:yes, but the reason I took that one back was because it was way too expensive and I could find the exact same one. Well, not the same name brand. Exact same one. We're not the same name brand. It was the exact same features and technology and something about a quarter of the price, even though it was on sale.
Lanette:And that's one thing, that, being with you, you have really taught me how to be a little more frugal. I would say, you know, I would have just bought that wall and been like here, because I don't have time to look for nothing else, don't want nothing else, I'll pay full price and let's call it a day, but now man, why pay full price for something that is made in the same factory, the exact same factory?
Irin:All they do is stamp a new name on it. Yeah, I think. For me it's the convenience. What's so different? Going to the store picking up something, then August, going to Amazon, type it in. It's going to give you 12 different options. It was the same thing For cheaper.
Lanette:Yeah, I mean, I have Amazon down pat now, right, so you know.
Irin:I mean, I feel like that money can go somewhere else, and why keep up with the Joneses when you can be blending with the Frenchies?
Lanette:Come on, sir, you better say I like that, I like it. I now have time to keep up with the Joneses anyway. We have too many kids and they got us tied down, so Side note.
Irin:side note, that's not a side. We do know some Joneses, but that's just a saying so.
Lanette:Yes, because we love the Joneses that we know. I don't know what Joneses you know, but I know the Joneses. I know Everybody knows some Joneses.
Irin:Oh yes, we know some Joneses.
Lanette:Some can sing, some can't. Oh, the ones I know can sing too. Yeah Well, I want to be a part of the Joneses, so I can sing.
Irin:You're blending with the freezes. You're a part of the Brooks and the Austin and the Cargill and Lee since now too. There we go, hey.
Lanette:Maybe that's why my voice has been changing. There we go, so you're spending happy, you feel like you're good when it comes to not spending a lot of money.
Irin:Yeah.
Lanette:What's your number one? I mean like the thing that you have the most trouble Something else, what Go ahead? What's your number one hiccup when it comes to spending money? Technology, hmm, hmm. Technology, huh, as in what MacBooks?
Irin:Yeah, okay so let's look at it like this here it comes. Whenever I buy something like that, it's usually for one of the businesses. I don't really just go out and spend a crazy amount of money on something going to be an investment for our businesses.
Lanette:That's true.
Irin:You know name something that I'll you know well, technically, Technically, I want some cowboy boots.
Lanette:Oh yeah.
Irin:But that's really the only thing that I can think of. That was just like why.
Lanette:But I think it's okay. Like we work hard, we take care of children, we do all types of stuff, I think it's okay for us to spend money on ourselves sometimes.
Irin:Yeah, I agree, I agree, but it's just, you know, it's that, it's that. Uh, I don't know, it's that guilt.
Lanette:Maybe I don't be guilty at all. I know you don't, but you be going straight through.
Irin:So shout out to my wife, man. Shout out to my wife she went through and got your boy some Ostrich Leg. Shout out to my wife she went through and got your boy some ostrich legs. Joints. Cowboy boots, man. These are boots that I seen a couple weeks ago. I mean, I walked in the store, Of course, got my hat cleaned.
Lanette:Cowboy hat.
Irin:for those who do not know him, my stetson you know, and walking down the aisle I talked to a lady, shout to carla her name is carla over at blue barn. Uh, she gave me some, you know, saying gave me some little history on how to take care of different cowboy boots. Because I got me some, I got me a couple, I got about three pair. Now three good pair I only wear two and so.
Irin:but I'm walking down this aisle and these man, these boots, this is like iron. I said huh, they was like man, come pick me up. So I picked up the boots, I looked at them. She said those are your boots. They talk to you.
Irin:Carla said that they talk to you while you walk down the aisle. Yeah, I seen your eyes. Yep, those are your boots. They talk to you. Carla said that they talk to you while you walk down the aisle. Yeah, I seen your eyes. Yep, those are. So I FaceTimed my wife. I mean, these are nice, huh, you like these? She was like, yeah, and of course, there's certain things going on in my head. You know what I'm saying. I'm thinking about it.
Lanette:What's going on in your head?
Irin:Where your pair at.
Lanette:Huh.
Irin:But you know, babe was in the Christian Louboutin and she went to wear a bottom shirt. So the what's it called the beauties, or something like that. Yeah, I'll be keeping the same babe. I know what you're saying.
Lanette:I clear my history.
Irin:But so I'm checking them out and stuff like that. I was like man, these are it. And she was like. I was like what kind of? What kind of what kind of exotic skin is this? She was like ostrich leg. I got me some ostriches already, some quill, some black ones, and she told me how to take care of, you know, my quill joints, Told me to take care of my blue joints, my areas, and my wife came through the door about a week later.
Lanette:Ain't surprised you for nothing.
Irin:Yeah, this woman. Go ahead and tell them the story, baby. Tell them how you Tried to do it.
Lanette:So I turned my location off Because I did not want him To know.
Irin:That's a for sure sign that she's doing something On that level Every time.
Lanette:But y'all, okay, I didn't think it through. So I turn my location off. I leave our auntie's house, go tell him I am going to be home probably in about 45 minutes. Traffic is crazy which it was, I was not lying, traffic was crazy. But I need to make a detour. So I'm like baby. So I'm like baby, I'll be home in about 45 minutes. He says okay, I turn my location off. Go to Boot Barn, grab these boots. Carla was there, she's amazing. She mentioned you and said you were a good man, all that good stuff and I'm loving it. So I'm thinking, okay, I know my husband. He's probably going to look at my location soon to see where I am.
Irin:Side note, the reason why we check each other's locations. If we called to see where the other one is and they didn't answer the phone Not in the sense of we don't trust Right. It's in the sense of we're just in case something happens.
Lanette:Absolutely.
Irin:I just want to throw that out there in a sense of where, just in case something happens, absolutely so. I just want to throw that out there because a lot of people might. They got to look you tell the location on and listen. This is about safety. It's about making sure my wife is secure where she's supposed to be at and there's nothing else going on.
Lanette:Absolutely no, not at all. So I knew babe was going to check it soon to make sure that you know I'm safe and that I'll be home soon. So I thought, shoot, I have it all, Let me go ahead and turn this mug back on. So I waited until about five, ten minutes from where Boot Barn was to turn it back on, Not realizing it was going to tell him. Then I turned my location on. I was like oh my gosh.
Irin:What did you text me, babe?
Lanette:What did I text you?
Irin:You were trying to do something, trying to do the GPS.
Lanette:Oh, yes, yes, yes. I was like, oh babe, my bad. I was trying to send you my ETA and of course I was trying to learn how to send you my ETA. And of course I was trying to learn how to send you my ETA because I didn't want to lie. So I'm looking for it and I'm just like, oh my gosh. So he didn't say anything. Nah, what's the point? Came home, I told him I had to go get a box and so told him hey, have our son come out, because I have some groceries which I really did have, some groceries that need to come in the house. Standing in the car, telling him, hey, go get our son, Son doesn't come out.
Irin:Right, I done. Called him over the intercom three times.
Lanette:Iron comes out. Okay, out of all the times I don't want him, I don't want you. Like, go back inside. I'm like, okay, out of all the times I don't want him, I don't want you Go back inside. I was like, babe, go get in the ride, go get him, have him to come out, you go back and finish working. We got it. So, babe is babe, he comes out. I'm standing by the passenger side trying to block the door. Then, long story short, we get all the stuff out the car From ear to ear. But what?
Irin:The box had meat in it y'all.
Lanette:The box had meat in it, so he thought that box that was sitting on the counter were his boots or something. He didn't. No, oh Well, I hugged my son and while I'm hugging him I'm whispering go get that box that's in the front seat and go take it downstairs. He's like huh, I'm like, go get that box that's in the front seat and go take it downstairs. He's like huh, I'm like okay.
Lanette:Mind you y'all, he's 16, so he, you know, I'm like go get the box that's in the passenger seat and take it. I said go to my room so he goes to the room.
Irin:And that's another sign. That's another typical sign. We don't allow these kids to go into our room at all, Unless we are, like it happened. They've been in our room maybe two or three times since you moved here.
Lanette:Yeah, and then I think you kicked them out of the room when they started saying they wanted another sibling and they wanted twins.
Irin:Oh yeah, they got to go.
Lanette:Yeah, after that I don't think you allowed them to come back in ever again. But yeah, so I tell our son I'm like Narai, go to the room. I follow him to the room. Iron's looking all crazy like what are y'all doing? Because for one.
Irin:You talking about Narai going to the room, like what. Why is he going to our room? We got so many different rooms that he can go in.
Lanette:So I tell him I said, go get that box that's in the front seat, it's something I got for your dad, Go take it downstairs. So he's like, okay. So what I do is babe is in the office and I'm like babe, carry this box for me, Take it to the office. So he is cheesing y'all. He's smiling from ear to ear cause he's trying to figure out what I have going on it be so extra.
Lanette:I was smiling from ear to ear because I was like this woman got something up her sleeve that she cannot cover up at all, because the thing was I told Narai to take the boots downstairs, hide them in his room and we weren't going to give them to you until Christmas. But I felt bad because I had you to open up that box in the room and it was a whole bunch of smoked turkey wings.
Irin:She's so awesome hey. She said.
Lanette:What'd I say?
Irin:You told me to take that box into the office.
Lanette:So that the ride could go, which you didn't know, but that was his way to go to the garage. Go get the box, go downstairs. I had to distract you.
Irin:By taking a box of meat into the office.
Lanette:You didn't know meat was in there.
Irin:Man, I knew something was going right. Something was shaking, the box was cold. See, I didn't even know that.
Lanette:I didn't know that at all, but yeah. So by that time I'm just like okay, narai, I get on the intercom, narai, bring that box up. So he brings the box up and babe's looking at me holding on to me, and then he sees the boot barn box, my babies. Merry Christmas, thank you, and they look really good on you, by the way, thank you, sweetheart.
Irin:My wife bought them for me.
Lanette:And so back to my point. I think that's where my area of having a problem is Spending money. Why did you make that face? His eyebrows went all up and down. I spend a lot of money when it comes to you and the children.
Irin:Yeah, you do.
Lanette:I love giving gifts Not just everybody.
Irin:You spend money on everybody.
Lanette:Because I love the smiles that it makes you guys have I love the feeling.
Irin:That don't mean you got to spend money on everybody.
Lanette:I know I'm working on it, I'm getting it out of my system now.
Irin:Yeah, we got to.
Lanette:So that January 1st ain't none of y'all getting a thing? That's not true at all.
Irin:Man this 2024, we're all about experiences. We're all about experiences as far as gifts and stuff like that. Gifts are cool, but it's all about experiences.
Lanette:Absolutely, because what do you give people that have everything? So we're going to create memories, we're going to give, like you said, experiences and not tangible things, because those things go by the wayside anyway, and they get old, absolutely.
Irin:Definitely so, on that note.
Lanette:Watch what you guys are spending.
Irin:Right man, Check out that good old checkbook. You know what I mean.
Lanette:Yeah, balance it out.
Irin:Yeah, check some balances.
Lanette:Balance it out, right Recording. Just be cautious and know that you don't have to buy your children any and everything that they want, because the truth of the matter is, after day two, they're not even going to play with it. It's going to be lost.
Irin:if you have a chaotic home, and that's why I'm saying they'd rather play with a box man. I'd be wanting to smack people.
Lanette:Well, maybe I shouldn't say that on air, but that's smack worthy, right Like I didn't spend all this money. You want to play in the box, not play with what Can't even get it out.
Irin:That's the cool thing. It shows that they can. They, at the essence, have the imagination. They want to be creative, they want to. They just want to do those things where they can actually use their mind and I love it, and that's free.
Lanette:So while y'all using your mind, can we take this gift back?
Irin:right, right matter of fact, where the receipt at? Where is the receipt?
Lanette:Matter of fact, we can give you the card that we used. How about that? But no, that's for that. Absolutely. But think about it Memories last forever. Yeah, do you have a memory of Christmas that you'll never forget?
Irin:Yeah, I think yeah, what is one?
Lanette:thing that you were gifted.
Irin:Well, when I was younger, the one I stood out the most probably was except for having Christmas like presents under the tree. There was a whole bunch of envelopes on the tree.
Lanette:Mm-mm. Did it have money in it? Yeah, yeah, I knew that we had to play a game. We may need to implement that with our kids, would y'all use?
Irin:clothes hangers. I mean not clothes hangers, what?
Lanette:What do they call? Those Clips Flip things. What do they call?
Irin:I don't remember how to do that Laundry hangers what do they call?
Lanette:Huh, I'm going to have to Google this because it's going to bother me. I think that's what it's called.
Irin:But yeah, I didn't have no siblings, so it was just me. Like they asked me questions, I answered the questions.
Lanette:Was it like Bible questions?
Irin:No. What kind of questions were they? I honestly don't remember I know it was a Bible question. I honestly don't remember. I think it was like, based off of things that I was doing in school, okay, when you're the only child it's kind of easy for them to know what you're doing in school, you know what I'm saying. So yes, a couple of history questions. So I do remember those history questions, science, stuff like that.
Lanette:I think I like that idea. I would like to implement that.
Irin:Not this year.
Lanette:Why? Because Christmas is over.
Irin:Christmas hasn't even begun as far as the gifts, they're over, they're done.
Lanette:Kids. Your dad said it, not me.
Irin:They're done, nobody else knows.
Lanette:Well, maybe next year, not next year.
Irin:Not next year either.
Lanette:Sorry kids, I'm trying.
Irin:Possibly 2026.
Lanette:Cause next year. We're making memories as well. They have no clue, but we are Making memories Cause again.
Irin:They like to google. Hey, google play Blending with the Frenchies.
Lanette:Or Alexa.
Irin:Play Blending with the Frenchies, or hey Siri.
Lanette:Exactly which makes me happy.
Irin:They are. So on that note, it is Getting kind of late and I'm getting sleepy and my husband, I'm sure, on Nano.
Lanette:It is getting kind of late and I'm getting sleepy and my husband, I'm sure, is going to wake me up at the crack of dawn. The crack.
